We sold Richard’s work truck before we left Texas. Actually we traded it, but that is a whole other story.
Anyway, he had to purchase another one. He finally found one big enough to pull equipment and that had nearly everything he was looking for. He went to go get it tagged and registered and the nice lady and the SOS office informed him that because the truck is so big he needed to take it and get it weighed. If it weighed over 8,000 pounds, we would have to pay an extra $450 annually for some sort of large vehicle tax. So he takes it to get it weighed, and it came in at 8,200 pounds. He figures it weighs so much because it has a HUGE flat-bed on it. Frustrated, he left without getting the paper with the certified weight on it.
Needless to say we were not happy. Richard even considered selling the truck. However he decided to keep it. This morning he left to go get it weighed again so he could get it registered.
After he left, I prayed. I asked the Lord if He would please change the numbers on the scale, so we could avoid paying yet another HIGH business expense.
Richard came home with the news that this morning the truck weighed in at 6,400 pounds. After it was weighed, he saw that the truck wasn’t quite centered on the scale. One of the tires was off just a bit. Knowing what the truck weighed last week, he centered the truck on the scale, and had the lady weigh the truck again. It still weighed in at 6,400 pounds.
I love my Lord who would answer such a request of mine. It was silly and simple, and He delighted in answering, my request offered up in faith.
Once again I feel like a spoiled beloved child.
